It's not very often somewhere gets 5 stars from me. This place was amazing. The crab au gratin starter was really tasty and good value, several of us had it. The steak was cooked to MY liking and not the the chef's idea of how I should like it. It was nice to be in a restaurant where you could also chat to other diners.

What a little gem of a place this is!Thank god for google reviews as we would never have found it otherwise.The food was delicious and amazing value for money. The staff were lovely and made the experience even better.We would 100% recommend this place and just wish we had found it sooner and not at the end of our stay.

Small but fantastic restaurant. Situated at the bottom of Fleet walk, up some narrow steps. Best steak we've had in ages. Good size portion at a reasonable price. Friendly/helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

Fabulous meal and great service. Our steaks cooked perfectly to our taste and all dishes including starters were delicious. We didn’t have desert as our first two courses were so big. It was our best meal in Torquay!

Great little place. Our third outing since our 9mo was born so we were desperate to go somewhere that did a good steak. After a Google about this is what flagged up as the best reviewed for the reasonable prices (noticed a lot of other steak houses in the Torquay area are a fair few quid more per meal).We were greeted warmly and sat straight away, it was mid week so it was quiet, but by the time we were eating there were about 5 tables so it was a comfortable atmosphere.Did two courses from the deal on the menu, starters came very quickly, garlic mushrooms were lovely in a delicious sauce and a very generous prawn cocktail.The mains came accompanied by nice big chips for me, garlic roast potatoes for my wife sand a surprising veg medley I didn't expect but enjoyed.The steaks were perfect. Nice quality cut of meat, seasoned very well and cooked exactly how we ordered. It's been a very long time since I was this satisfied with a meal out, and much longer for a good steak.All in it was around 50 - 60 quid for 2 courses, 2 drinks and we both had a side for the steak.The Stilton sauce was so rich and flavourful and the cajun rub I had really made the steak for me.Next time we get a night away I'd definitely come back here and I'll tell any visiting family it's first port of call!

Fabulous meal! Really enjoyed our evening. The starters and our steaks were amazing. We couldn't manage a dessert as fabulous portion sizes. Will certainly return when we visit Torquay again.

Highly recommended… huge portions of home cooked food! Steak was a perfect medium rare, the crab gratin and prawns amazing to start! This is a locally owned restaurant and the difference compared to chains stark! 4 drink 2 starters and mains for 65! Unbelievably good value! Lovely atmosphere and lovely family who run it! We have walked past so many times but never been! We will be returning soon
